A Gift for the Ages

Can't bend conviction

But you can bend time

Slip between all of your futures

If memory serves theres no reason or rhyme

Just using excuses for sutures

Vision is blurry but it suits me

Just fine

Can't stand seeing all of those faces

Outward appearance is just a disguise

Beauty a gift for the ages

Call me a cynic at least i’m never cold

The heating is still on in the basement

Remembering is easy

When you never grow old

Disappear before you ever face it

Battles like these aren't fought in the fields

They’re won in the mind as it races

Humor and wit are only a shield

Beauty a gift for the ages

Dressed in a body

Of which I wasn't born

The nuclear option was taken

Ideas these days gather in swarms

While I dance around in the spaces

Something occurred to me

While building this place

Some stories just aren't meant for pages

So I wrote the book in the lines of your face

Beauty a gift for the ages
